It was announced this week as part of the Budget that the CJRS furlough grant scheme has now been extended to 30 September 2021.

Employees will continue to receive 80% of their usual pay for hours not working. As first introduced last summer, Employers will however be required to contribute towards this 80% starting again in July 2021.

Employers will be required to pay a 10% contribution in July 2021 as government support drops to 70%. The additional 20% to full pay remains discretionary.

In August & September 2021, this contribution will increase to 20%, with the government providing 60%.

Eligible employees must have been on the payroll and included in RTI submissions between 20 March 2020 and 2 March 2021.
