I am the Chief Executive of the firm and also Head of the Taxation Department. I have been a tax specialist since 1979 and am routinely involved in reviewing clients tax affairs, identifying and assessing the opportunities to reduce the tax burden.
I previously worked in both Mid Tier and Big 4 Accountancy Firms prior to joining Pattinsons in 1994.

I am a member of the accounts team and specialise in assisting sole traders, partnerships and Limited Companies with their bookkeeping, both in-house and at the clients’ premises. I am also involved in preparing year end accounts, management accounts and VAT returns.
Claire Watkins – Analytical Accountant
I work in the accounts department and am currently studying my third year of AAT. I work primarily with sole trader clients, producing year end accounts and undertake bookkeeping duties on Xero and Sage, in which I hold a level 3 Certificate of Competence.
Carrie Betts – Junior Accountant
I have Recently joined Pattinsons and am currently training to be an Accountant. I am studying AAT on day release, which is the first step towards becoming a qualified Accountant. When in the office I assist in both the accounts and administration departments, in working in both departments I am gaining a wide range of experience and knowledge.
Curtis Watson – Trainee Accountant
I advise on personal, business and corporate taxation matters as well as employment remuneration and benefit strategies. Having significant experience working in industry, I am ideally placed to attend to the needs and concerns of business owners and employers.
Katie Ballard – Taxation Specialist
I am a member of the taxation department and advise on personal, business and corporate tax matters, the construction industry scheme as well as overseeing payroll affairs. I generally attend to compliance matters which involves significant contact with clients, HM Revenue & Customs and third parties.
Jessica Russell – Taxation Specialist
I take care of our payroll clients’ needs, by compiling and processing employee payroll data, producing reports, employee payslips and corresponding with the relevant government agencies. I also assist with our internal accounts and office procedures.
Kelly Huckle – Payroll Technician
I attend to company secretarial affairs, which involves the preparation of documentation to ensure that all actions are recorded correctly and are in compliance with the Companies Act.
I am a member of the administration team, who take care of our office procedures whilst dealing with clients on a daily basis.
Margaret Smedley – Company Secretarial Executive
As part of the administration team, I am responsible for the general day to day running of the office which encompasses the management of the facilities and systems we operate.
In addition, I am personal assistant to the Director and co-ordinate the internal reporting for the firm as well as assisting with marketing and the enhancement of our business and services.
